COMMON FOOD ALLERGIES
The following excerpt is from the self help
psychology book, Be Your Own Therapist.
The most common food allergies are dairy and wheat (with corn
not far behind). When testing, carefully check labels for dairy,
wheat and corn, (and their less obvious appearances as whey,
syrup, bran, etc.). These three most common offenders are found
in a wide array of foods.

Additionally, any other foods that you
regularly consume, or for which you have cravings, are likely
culprits. Dr. Mandell states that "over the past twenty-five
years, my colleagues and I have found that
wheat, potatoes, chicken, corn, pork, lettuce, coffee, oranges, soy products, cane sugar, carrots, peanuts, milk, totatoes, green beans, eggs, yeast, oats, beef apples, chocolate
are prominent among the foods that often cause allergic
reactions in our patients" (Mandell and Scanlon 1980, 115). The
above listed foods have become overly important to our diets,
both in their plain forms and also in their combined forms.
Because of such high levels of ingestion, many people have
become highly allergic to these foods.
