This mythical Therapy 4-H Club will never be joined by many
(even in spirit) and is basically no longer really necessary.
The new therapeutic method mentioned earlier, EMDR, will do the
same job on trauma more quickly and effectively than any of the
older methods with which I am acquainted. While the fourth H,
Healing, may still be used regularly, the first three H's will
likely only be encountered briefly in the course of EMDR
treatment sessions. They still may need to be faced, but not
with as much pain and distress as was required to effect trauma
resolution via old-style therapeutic methods.
Hatred and anger can be exorcised and left behind, if felt and expressed as suggested in this book. Avoiding them forever leads to forever stress.|
This chapter may have shown you where you are stuck in trauma
resolution. Each client and each therapist usually have specific
H's that are consistently avoided. Just knowing which H is
missing will often be enough to propel you toward its resolution.
Healing of traumas today is much
easier and less painful than ever before.
