THE INSENSITIVITY OF WOMEN
The following excerpt is from the self help
psychology book, Be Your Own Therapist.
If women were really sensitive to their men, they would realize
that as it is often currently promoted, sensitivity is NOT
wanted by many males."Why should I be sensitive? Who wants to
feel hurt? OK, she says that I'm insensitive, I'll see what I
can do to play along and put up a good show of sensitivity."
Instead, it would more effective to promote that a man needs to
regain his sensitivity (1)to feel complete, (2)to get out of
anger traps, (3)to feel good, (4)to avoid emotional crippling,
(5)to improve his relationship with a woman, (6)to rid himself
of addictions or (7)to reduce stress.

Women also tend to be insensitive to men in areas where women
apparently have received significant trauma. In our society this
translates to sexuality (see Chapter 15), competitiveness (see
Chapter 14) and anger (see Chapter 9). In these three areas,
some women often show a complete lack of sensitivity to men's
issues. They also tend to judge harshly the differences between
the sexes, judgments which often, I believe, blame the wrong sex
for the difficulties. Of course, men too frequently misjudge
women's views in men's areas of significant trauma and
diminished capabilities - sensitivity, caring, empathy and
communication (see Chapter 9).
